No, I do not think that his words should be taken seriously. I do however think that it is a growing problem. More bomb threats and such coming form schools. But mostly from students, not teachers. Teachers with a bad record should be taken seriously, and necessary precautions taken, but I think it is pretty easy to tell whether someone is joking or not.
