I don't know what the youngest legal age to hunt with a firearm is, but if there was one i would say twelve is a good age. to me twelves is when kids start to be more responsible, in this case, the kid should have know not to be fooling around with the safety on his gun. I think that it was partially the parent's fault for not telling him to not to play with the safety. Also it seems like the parent wasn't nearby which also doesn't seem like a good idea. But, as long as the parent is nearby, I think it is fine for kids to hunt with firearms.
